Spring & Mulberry expanded its voluntary recall of select chocolate bars because of possible Salmonella contamination, according to a company announcement posted by the Food and Drug Administration on Friday, May 8.

A multi-state salmonella outbreak tied to eggs has sickened 95 people nationwide and triggered a recall of large brown cage-free eggs sold under several brand names, federal health officials said.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said Thursday, Aug. 28, that cases span 13 states, with 73 illnesses in California. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has scaled back a major foodborne illness surveillance program, according to a new report.
The agency is now tracking just two pathogens instead of the usual eight, NBC News reports.

A Salmonella outbreak linked to a cucumber producer has now expanded to 18 states with 45 illnesses and 16 hospitalizations now reported.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a new recall for Bedner Growers cucumbers on Friday, May 30.
The recalled cucumbers, grown in Boynton Beach, Florida, and distributed by Fresh Start Produce Sales, were shipped to retailers, distribution centers, wholesalers, and food service dealers from Tuesday, April 29, to Monday, May 19.
