Rapist Who Fled To Philippines Finally Gets Jail Time Over 5 Years After Hudson Valley Crime
An Orange County man who fled the country for years to avoid prosecution on rape charges has finally faced justice.
Dominic Mamaat, 46, of New Windsor, was sentenced on Wednesday, Feb. 4, to 20 years in state prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision, after pleading guilty to first-degree rape, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
As part of the sentence, Mamaat will also be required to register as a sex offender under New York’s Sex Offender Registration Act.

A Westchester County man convicted of repeatedly sexually abusing two victims, including a child, will spend decades in prison, prosecutors announced.
Yonkers resident Eleuterio Duran, 38, was sentenced Tuesday, Jan. 27, by Westchester County Court Judge Robert Prisco to consecutive prison terms totaling 45 years, the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday, Jan. 29.

An Orange County man will spend decades in prison after admitting to raping a young child, prosecutors announced.
Kelvin Dubon-Rivas, age 35, of Newburgh, was sentenced on Monday, June 23, in Orange County Court to 20 years in state prison, followed by 20 years of post-release supervision, after previously pleading guilty to first-degree rape, Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler announced the same day.
As part of the sentence, he will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Hudson Valley Man Who Attempted To Rape Child Sentenced
A Hudson Valley man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for the attempted rape of a child under the age of 11.
Orange County resident James Pospisil, age 45, of Port Jervis, was also sentenced on Tuesday, Sept. 17, to 15 years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty.
He will also have to register as a sex offender, said Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
At the plea proceedings, Pospisil admitted that between Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, and Tuesday, Jan. 2, he attempted to engage in sexual intercourse with a child under 11 years old.
