MTV Cancels Cult-Favorite Series After 9 Seasons
After nine seasons and nearly 12 years on air, MTV’s "Catfish" is coming to an end.
Host Nev Schulman made the announcement in an Instagram post on Monday, Sept. 22, alongside former co-host Max Joseph, who left the series after Season 7. Joseph said he had been preparing to return.
“Thank you for being a part of this, for turning what was an idea and a documentary into a global conversation about curiosity, compassion, and really setting a higher standard for how we should treat people and treat ourselves,” Schulman told fans.

Tinder Trap: Woman Gets 10 Years For Role In NY Ambush Robberies
A New York woman will spend a decade behind bars for her role in back-to-back armed robberies orchestrated through the dating app Tinder.
Karina Carroll, 25, of Troy, was sentenced to five years in prison in Albany County Court on Monday, June 30, after pleading guilty to first-degree robbery. Her sentence will run consecutively to a previous five-year sentence doled out in Rensselaer County.
Carroll admitted to working with Terry Adams, 19, and William Camino, 20, both of Troy, to target unsuspecting men using Tinder.

A New York man has been convicted of raping a 23-year-old woman he met on Tinder on their first date in 2020, authorities confirmed on Thursday, April 24.
William Hathaway, 33 — who now lives in Miami, FL and was raised in West Hartford, CT — was arrested in July 2020 on accusations he raped the woman at his West 14th Street apartment in the West Village on Feb. 15, 2020, according to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg Jr. and Daily Voice sources.

Tinder Luring: 19-Year-Old Gets Decade In Prison For Ambush Robbery In Region
A 19-year-old man will spend a decade behind bars for his role in an ambush robbery in the region.
Rensselaer County resident William Camino, of Troy, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in Rensselaer County Court on Wednesday, Aug. 28, a month after pleading guilty to first-degree robbery.
According to prosecutors, Camino and two others – Katrina Carroll, age 24, and Terry Adams, age 18, both of Troy – used the dating app Tinder to lure a man into an alleyway near Congress and Cypress streets in Troy at around 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.
