Rohail Raja and his wife, Sharma Alam, both 45 and from New Windsor, were arraigned on Monday, Nov. 10, on charges of first-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree conspiracy, accused of stealing more than $3.5 million in Medicaid funds through fraudulent billing, Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler announced on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

A massive, eight-month investigation into an illegal gun and drug trafficking ring operating out of Orange County has resulted in the arrest of 20 people and the recovery of more than 55 firearms, hundreds of grams of drugs, and over $65,000 in cash, prosecutors announced.

Burger King Armed Robbery: Suspect, 50, From Dutchess Caught, Police Say
A Dutchess County man has been arrested in connection with an early morning armed robbery at a Burger King in Orange County, police said.
The incident happened in New Windsor at around 6:06 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, when police responded to a reported armed robbery at the Burger King located at 376 Windsor Hwy., the New Windsor Police Department announced on Wednesday, April 2.
Upon arrival, police found three employees at the restaurant, including the manager, who reported being assaulted by a male suspect who had what appeared to be a firearm before fleeing the scene.

A Hudson Valley man has been charged with alleged murder for using several kitchen knives to stab a man to death who was lying on the street following a fight.
Orange County resident Cameron Williams, age 25, of New Windsor, was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 6, for the Sunday, Oct. 13 incident in the city of Newburgh.
