Sheriff IDs Man Killed In Route 9 Crash
Authorities have released details in the Friday, Jan. 17 crash along Route 9 that left one person dead in Putnam County. Norton Segarra, 74, of Beacon, NY was heading south when he veered into the northbound lanes and was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by a 60-year-old Milford, CT man around 1:30 p.m. near Route 403 in Garrison, County Sheriff Kevin J. McConville said. Segarra was pronounced dead at the scene near Philipstown, and the driver of the truck was taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
