A Putnam County man and a North Carolina resident have been charged in a federal fraud case accusing them of falsifying hundreds of critical safety inspections on natural gas pipelines in Westchester County and New York City, prosecutors announced.

A 55-year-old woman is facing animal cruelty and abandonment charges after two severely neglected dogs were found separately in Putnam County parking lots earlier this week, authorities said.
The investigation began on Tuesday evening, April 8, around 8:54 p.m., when authorities were called to the parking lot of Saint James the Apostle Church in Carmel. A 33-year-old man was criminally charged after allegedly neglecting his Havanese mix puppy, who was found suffering from severe infections and abscesses in Dutchess County, officials announced.
The investigation began on Monday, Jan. 29, when the Town of East Fishkill Police contacted the Putnam County SPCA after the puppy’s owner brought the dog, named "Max," to a veterinary office in East Fishkill. Man Traumatically Injured In Motorcycle Crash In Hudson Valley, Airlifted To Hospital
A 50-year-old man suffered traumatic injuries and was airlifted to a hospital after crashing his motorcycle in the Hudson Valley.
The crash happened in Putnam County on Sunday, Jan. 12 around 12:30 p.m., when a motorcycle crashed on Croton Falls Rd. (Route 34) in Mahopac after failing to negotiate a turn, losing control, and hitting a guardrail, Carmel Police Lt. Michael Bodo said on Monday, Jan. 13.
The rider, a 50-year-old Mahopac resident, suffered traumatic injuries to his lower body and pelvic area, Bodo said.

Driver Rescued After Plunging Into Reservoir In Hudson Valley
A driver was rescued from a partially submerged vehicle in a Hudson Valley reservoir, authorities said.
The incident occurred in Putnam County shortly after noon on Tuesday, Dec. 3, when a vehicle crashed into the West Branch Reservoir near Washington Road in Carmel, according to the Carmel Police Department.
The driver, a 76-year-old Mahopac woman, was unable to exit the vehicle, prompting an immediate response from Carmel Police officers, along with the Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department, the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team, and EMS units.
