Threats To Son Lead To NY Man's More Than Decade-Long Sentence : DA A 47-year-old Orange County father's threatening text messages to his son set off a chain of events that has now landed him behind bars for more than a decade, prosecutors said. The arrest happened in Dutchess County around 11:10 p.m. on Friday, July 4, when a trooper pulled over a Honda CR-V on Route 9 in the Village of Wappinger for multiple traffic violations, New York State Police announced on Sunday, July 6. Sullivan County resident Christopher Dedonato, 26, of Liberty, was taken into custody Monday, May 5, following an investigation by New York State Police. Dedonato has worked as a math teacher at Liberty High School since 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile. Julie DeVuono, age 51, of Amityville, pleaded guilty to filing forged vaccination record cards, laundering the criminal proceeds from selling the cards, and filing false prescriptions for opioids in Suffolk County Court in September 2023.
