Jeremy Allen, 44, of East Quogue, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after a jury convicted him of Murder in the First Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced on Thursday, Feb. 26.
Allen was convicted on Jan. 21 following a jury trial before Supreme Court Justice Timothy P. Mazzei.

State investigators shut down an illegal cannabis operation in Dutchess County after seizing more than $900,000 worth of unlicensed marijuana products, officials said.
The New York State Office of Cannabis Management announced Tuesday, Feb. 17, that its investigators inspected the illicit shop in Rhinebeck on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
According to the agency, the shop was being used to grow, process, store, and sell illegal cannabis products. Officials did not specify where the shop was located.
