Car Rolls Over On Hudson Valley Road Fire crews rushed to a serious crash scene in Putnam County after a vehicle rolled over. The incident happened in Lake Carmel on Monday, Jan. 27 just after 4 p.m., the Lake Carmel Fire Department announced on Tuesday, Jan. 28. Responding fire crews confirmed that a vehicle rolled over and began stabilizing it. Photos released by the department on social media show that the windshield was removed during the crash response.  More information about injuries and the exact location was not immediately available. Smouldering Van Impacts Traffic On I-84 At Dutchess, Putnam Line A van blaze slowed traffic on Interstate 84 at the border of Putnam and Dutchess counties, firefighters said. The fire happened on Friday, Jan. 24 just before 12:45 p.m., when a van caught on fire on Interstate 84 in Kent, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. Crews were able to put out the blaze after around 30 minutes.  The incident caused traffic delays on the interstate during the response.

Blaze Destroys Vehicle In I-84 In Kent A fire completely consumed a vehicle on Interstate 84 in the Hudson Valley.  The blaze happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Jan. 22 at around 2:15 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on I-84 in Kent, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department. Fire crews rushed to the scene and were able to put the flames out.  No injuries were reported and the incident was safely brought under control, firefighters said.  "Remember to keep an eye on your vehicle’s condition to help prevent incidents like this," the department said in a social media post on Thursday, Jan. 23.

Semi-Truck Knocks Down Live Wires, Catches On Fire In Hudson Valley Part of a busy Hudson Valley road was briefly closed to traffic after a semi-truck collided with a utility pole, causing a blaze sparked by live wires.  The incident happened in Putnam County on Tuesday, July 9 around 1 p.m., when a semi-truck hit a utility pole on Farmers Mills Road (Route 42) in Kent, according to the Lake Carmel Fire Department.  Arriving police and fire crews found that active live wires had sparked a fire that reached the truck.
