Dog Falls Through Ice On Pond In Lagrangeville Fire crews raced to a Hudson Valley pond after a dog fell through the ice into freezing water.  The rescue happened in Dutchess County on Thursday, Feb. 13 at around 10:45 a.m., when a dog plunged through ice on a pond in the area of Stringham Park in Lagrangeville, according to the LaGrange Fire Department.  Upon arrival, the department’s trained ice water rescue technicians entered the icy water to save the stranded pup.  The rescue was successful, and the dog was brought to safety, reportedly unharmed and in good spirits.  "While we’re very happy this incident ended…

Victims ID'd After Double-Fatal Wrong-Way Driver Crash In LaGrange Two men were killed during a wrong-way driver crash on the Taconic State Parkway in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, in LaGrange. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, an initial investigation determined Joseph W. LaFave, age 35, of LaGrange, driving a 2017 BMW X1, traveled north in the southbound lane on the Taconic State Parkway in the area of Todd Hill Road.  Hicks said LaFave struck a 2017 Lincoln Navigator head-on in the left southbound lane.
