A man and his dog were rescued from dangerous currents in a Dutchess County river thanks to a fast and coordinated emergency response, fire officials said. The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, when the J.H. Ketcham Hose Company responded to a water emergency in the Ten Mile River in Dover, according to the Arlington Fire District, which helped with the rescue. Dog Falls Through Ice On Pond In Lagrangeville
Fire crews raced to a Hudson Valley pond after a dog fell through the ice into freezing water. The rescue happened in Dutchess County on Thursday, Feb. 13 at around 10:45 a.m., when a dog plunged through ice on a pond in the area of Stringham Park in Lagrangeville, according to the LaGrange Fire Department. Victims ID'd After Double-Fatal Wrong-Way Driver Crash In LaGrange
Two men were killed during a wrong-way driver crash on the Taconic State Parkway in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at 2:40 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, in LaGrange. According to New York State Police Trooper AJ Hicks, an initial investigation determined Joseph W. LaFave, age 35, of LaGrange, driving a 2017 BMW X1, traveled north in the southbound lane on the Taconic State Parkway in the area of Todd Hill Road.
