Gun Fired, 16-Year-Old NJ Football Player Dead — Authorities Investigating What Went Wrong A 16-year-old was killed after a firearm discharged in front of a group of juveniles on Friday, June 6 in Camden, authorities said. At 12:35 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Thorn Street and found Xyere Brooks with a gunshot wound inside of the residence, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.  Brooks was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 p.m., prosecutors said.  Multiple juveniles were determined to have been in the residence at the time of the incident, police said. 5 Nabbed On Gun Charges In Hudson Valley During Traffic Stop, Police Say Five residents in the region, including three juveniles, were nabbed on alleged gun charges during a routine traffic stop.  The incident occurred in Orange County around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, on I-84 in Deerpark. Dutchess County Juvenile Nabbed For Making 'Non-Specific' School Threat, Police S A juvenile was charged with allegedly making a threat of mass harm after the FBI alerted the New York State Police of a school threat made in the region on TikTok. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Wappinger. Trooper AJ Hicks said an investigation determined the "non-specific threat originated from the town of Wappinger.  Investigators located and arrested the minor soon after, Hicks said. The attack happened at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Schenectady’s Jerry Burrell Park, near Schenectady and Hamilton streets. According to police, officers found the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. They were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
