A Dutchess County high school was placed on lockout Monday afternoon, Sept. 15, due to nearby police activity, officials said. At around 3:15 p.m. on Monday, Wappingers Central School District Superintendent Dwight Bonk announced that John Jay High School in East Fishkill went into lockout status after law enforcement notified administrators of an ongoing police matter near Interstate 84. A crash on Interstate 84 forced a full closure of the westbound lanes in Putnam County for hours on Monday afternoon, June 23, and resulted in a fatality, state police said.
