Man Falls From Middle School Roof In Dutchess County, Airlifted To Hospital
A man was airlifted to the hospital after falling from a roof at a Dutchess County middle school. The incident happened on Friday night, Sept. 5, at Pawling Middle School, according to Pawling Fire Chief Everett White. At around 8:45 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the school at 80 Wagner Rd. for reports of a 50-year-old man who had fallen 15 to 20 feet from one roof onto a secondary roof, White said. Albany police have identified a young man who was killed in a stabbing over the weekend. Daval Byrams, 23, of Troy, died after being stabbed in the neck during a fight on Ontario Street near Third Street late Saturday night, July 26, according to police. Firefighters raced to a building in Dutchess County to come to the aid of a woman with dementia who was found on its roof. The incident happened on Wednesday evening, July 23, at a building on Union Avenue in Poughkeepsie, according to the city's fire department.
