A man was seriously injured when a shotgun accidentally discharged inside a Long Island home, police announced on Sunday, March 8. A 51-year-old Farmingville man was arrested after the gun fired inside a residence on Redwood Lane around 7:40 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, according to Suffolk County Police. A 29-year-old New York man died after he shot himself in the head at a New Jersey gun range last week, authorities tell Daily Voice. The Yonkers man, who was not identified, was at the privately owned Long Shot gun range at 375 County Avenue in Secaucus on Friday, Sept. 5 when he shot at approximately 4:25 p.m., Secaucus Police Chief Dennis Miller said. A 16-year-old was killed after a firearm discharged in front of a group of juveniles on Friday, June 6 in Camden, authorities said. At 12:35 p.m., officers responded to the 1500 block of Thorn Street and found Xyere Brooks with a gunshot wound inside of the residence, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office. Brooks was transported to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 p.m., prosecutors said. An early morning hunting expedition turned perilous for a 26-year-old man, who was hospitalized following a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
