A 56-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly burning construction debris in Dutchess County during New York’s temporary statewide burn ban, police said. Officers responded at around 6:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, to help the Tivoli Fire Department with a large brush fire at 381 Budds Corners Rd. in Red Hook, the town's police department said on Monday, Oct. 6. More than 27,000 wireless power chargers are being recalled after lithium-ion batteries inside them reportedly caught fire, burning users and sparking safety concerns. iWALK has issued the recall for about 27,500 magnetic wireless power banks, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, May 29. A recall was issued for a popular high-capacity phone charger sold on Amazon and other major retailers after dozens of alarming battery incidents, including some chargers that caught fire. About 55,380 Baseus 65-watt portable chargers have been recalled, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, May 1.
