Authorities have identified the 88-year-old woman who died in a devastating house fire in Rockland County.
Myrna Hirsch, 88, of New City, was found dead inside her home following the blaze on Sunday, March 29, at 71 Carolina Dr., the Clarkstown Police Department confirmed on Monday, March 30.
As previously reported by Daily Voice, police responded around 9:05 a.m. to reports of a structure fire with a possible person trapped inside. Arriving officers found the single-family home heavily engulfed in flames.

House Explosion: Cause Revealed For Blast That Killed Man, Woman In Hudson Valley
Days after a man and woman were killed in a house explosion in the Hudson Valley, investigators determined what caused the blast.
A “significant amount” of propane had leaked into a Brueckner Lane residence in the town of Hurley, causing a massive explosion at around noon Wednesday, March 19, New York State Police said.
The blast completely leveled the home, killing residents Ralph Brueckner, 75, and Cheryl Hathaway, 58, according to police.

Search Warrant Leads To Child Porn Charge For Hudson Valley 60-Year-Old
A Hudson Valley code enforcement officer and fire investigator has been charged with allegedly possessing materials showing obscene sexual performances by a child.
Orange County resident John Orr, age 60, of Pine Island, was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 6, following the execution of a search warrant by the New York State Police and the town of Warwick Police on Glenwood Road, in the Town of Warwick, said Trooper Steven Nvel.
