Dick's Closes $2.5B Foot Locker Deal In Major Sporting Goods Merger
Dick's Sporting Goods has finalized its purchase of Foot Locker, creating a global sports retail giant with more than 3,200 stores in 20 countries.
The Pittsburgh-based chain completed the $2.5 billion deal to acquire the sneaker chain on Monday, Sept. 8. Dick's will keep Foot Locker's brands, including Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Champs Sports, WSS, and atmos.
The combined company will now operate across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, with licensed stores in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

More than 3.8 million BowFlex adjustable dumbbells are being recalled after more than 100 people suffered injuries, including head trauma and broken bones.
Johnson Health Tech Trading issued the recall for about 3,844,200 BowFlex 552 and 1090 adjustable dumbbells, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, June 5. The issue stems from how weight plates can dislodge during use, posing a risk of impact injuries.

More Amputated Fingertips Reported, Forcing Massive Cooler Recall To Expand
Igloo has expanded a major recall after dozens of new reports of severe fingertip injuries tied to its rolling coolers.
Igloo Products Corp. is recalling about 130,000 more coolers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, May 8. The latest recall brings the total number of affected coolers to nearly 1.2 million.
The first recall was issued for 1,060,000 Igloo coolers back in February. In total, the company has received 78 injury reports, 26 of which involved fingertip amputations, bone fractures, or deep cuts, according to the CPSC.

Igloo Products Corp. issued the recall for about 1,060,000 of its 90-quart Flip & Tow rolling coolers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, Feb. 13. A dangerous defect in the tow handle can pinch users' fingertips, posing risks of crushing injuries.

Teen From Region Others Beat Victims With Baseball Bat For Jordan
A 19-year-old man and four others are accused of beating a father and son with baseball bats to steal their shoes at a Capital Region sports store over the weekend, authorities said.
Albany County resident Kyle H. Fowlkes, of Colonie, faces charges of robbery, two counts of assault, and possession of a weapon, Colonie police said. A judge ordered him held on a $10,000 cash bail.
