Drunk Driver Pins Pedestrian In Parking Lot, New York State Police Say A Glenville woman is accused of drunkenly striking and pinning a pedestrian under her vehicle in Malta, New York, State Police announced on Wednesday, Sept. 10. The incident happened in a parking lot on Hemphill Place at about 10:15 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, according to police. Troopers said a pedestrian was trapped beneath the vehicle until crews from the Malta Stillwater Fire Department removed them. Man Critically Injured By Hit-Run Driver In Hudson Valley A man was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in the region. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29, in the town of Woodstock near the intersection of Maverick Road. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 68-year-old Kingston man was riding his bike and traveling south on Route 375 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene.  The man was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital in Dutchess County in Poughkeepsie, Nevel said. The incident occurred in Ulster County around 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, on Kyserike Road in High Falls. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, troopers responded to a dog attack call. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 2-year-old pit bull attacked an 8-year-old girl and a 39-year-old woman. The 8-year-old suffered head and neck injuries.
