Police officers and crisis negotiators were able to save a woman’s life after she was found standing on the Mid-Hudson Bridge railing earlier this week. According to the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department, 911 dispatchers received a call around 6:34 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4, reporting a person on the bridge with one leg over the rail mid-span. A tense police operation that shut down a stretch of Route 199 in Dutchess County ended with the arrest of an armed man who allegedly fired a warning shot, authorities said. A suicidal Hudson Valley man was helped by the City of Poughkeepsie Police, who were able to successfully intervene with help from the Hostage Negotiation Team and the Mobile Crisis Team. A five-hour standoff in Dutchess County ended with the arrest of a 36-year-old man wanted on a warrant for reckless endangerment, police said. Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office said Richard P.
