A powerful nor’easter that swept through the Hudson Valley left hundreds without power and sent crews scrambling to clear downed trees and wires Monday morning, Oct. 13.
In Rockland County, about 209 Orange & Rockland Utilities customers were still without electricity as of 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 13, with full restoration expected by 11 p.m., according to O&R.
Meanwhile, just over 500 customers were reported to be in the dark in Orange County, with an estimated restoration time of Tuesday, Oct. 14, at 5 p.m.

A tragic early morning crash on I-87 southbound in Clarkstown claimed the life of a 28-year-old New City man, New York State Police reported.
Justin Drinks was speeding in a 2022 Tesla when he tried to change lanes around 1:20 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, near exit 12, NYSP Trooper Jennifer Alvarez said.

Filming To Close Major Rockland County Roadway
A busy Rockland County roadway will be closed on Monday, Dec. 16, to film a popular television series.
The causeway will be closed between Ridge Road and Stonewall Lane in Clarkstown from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the filming of the NBC Peacock series Poker Face.
Clarkstown Police said a detour route would be posted, routing vehicles to Route 304, Route 9W, and Old Haverstraw Rd.
