Helmet Saves Child From Serious Injury After Taxi Crash In NY: Report A child escaped serious injury after being struck by a taxi while riding a bicycle in Rockland County.  The incident happened on Thursday, Sept. 18, at the intersection of Route 306 and Edison Court in Monsey, where emergency responders from Rockland Hatzoloh and the Ramapo Police Department were called to the scene, The Monsey Scoop reported. The boy, who neighbors estimate to be around 12 years old, was airlifted to the hospital after emergency crews responded to Emma and Ashley Avenues around 5 p.m., according to incident reporter Mark Lieb of Rockland Video Productions. 7-Year-Old Struck in Hudson Valley Crosswalk, Driver Cited for Failure to Yield: Police A 7-year-old child suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street with his mother in a Kingston crosswalk. The incident occurred around 8:50 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, on the Boulevard near Stewarts, said Lt. Patrick Buono of the Kingston Police. According to Buono, a 2011 Chevy Silverado, driven by Nicholas Visbeck, age 33, of Kingston, struck the child crossing the street with his mother in the crosswalk. 2-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Hudson Valley An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, on Calvert Drive in the village of Kaser in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Michael Gannon, responding officers found the child was struck by a 2014 Honda Odyssey and had sustained life-threatening injuries.  The girl was transported to Nyack Hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance and later died from her injuries, Gannon said.
