Helmet Saves Child From Serious Injury After Taxi Crash In NY: Report A child escaped serious injury after being struck by a taxi while riding a bicycle in Rockland County.  The incident happened on Thursday, Sept. 18, at the intersection of Route 306 and Edison Court in Monsey, where emergency responders from Rockland Hatzoloh and the Ramapo Police Department were called to the scene, The Monsey Scoop reported. 2-Year-Old Struck, Killed By SUV In Hudson Valley An investigation is underway after a 2-year-old girl was struck and killed by a van in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Rockland County at 3:10 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, on Calvert Drive in the village of Kaser in Ramapo. According to Ramapo Police Lt. Michael Gannon, responding officers found the child was struck by a 2014 Honda Odyssey and had sustained life-threatening injuries.  The girl was transported to Nyack Hospital by Hatzolah Ambulance and later died from her injuries, Gannon said.
