Drunk Driver Hits, Injures 3 Kids In Region, Police Say
Three children were hospitalized after a suspected drunk driver hit them in Albany, police said.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, near Lexington Avenue and Second Street, according to Albany Police.
An investigation found that the driver, 36-year-old Melvin Robinson, was heading south on Lexington when he struck the juveniles, who were reportedly in the roadway, police said.

The 9-year-old girl who died after being rescued from Hersheypark’s wave pool last week has been identified as Sophia Subedi, a resident of Harrisburg’s Bhutanese community.
Sophia, born in 2016 in Mount Carmel, Columbus, Ohio, had lived in Harrisburg since 2022. More than 850,000 fragrance diffusers are being recalled after reports that loose magnets in the detachable cover could be swallowed by children.
Pura Scents is recalling about 851,400 of its Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance Diffusers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, July 24. Around 1,100 were also sold in Canada.
The issue centers on five magnets inside the detachable front cover, which can come loose and be ingested. If swallowed, the magnets can attract inside the body, leading to intestinal blockages, infections, or death.

Drunk Driver Caught With 12-Year-Old In Car On Taconic Parkway In Dutchess: Nysp
A 54-year-old man is facing felony charges after allegedly driving drunk with a 12-year-old child in his vehicle on the Taconic State Parkway in Dutchess County, police announced.
The arrest followed a traffic stop at around 10:42 p.m. on Friday, July 11, when a trooper pulled over a Ford traveling northbound on the parkway in East Fishkill for multiple traffic violations, New York State Police announced on Monday, July 14.
