Fractured, Injured Fingers Prompt Recall Of 225K+ Camping Cots
More than 200,000 camping cots are being recalled after an issue with the backrest caused serious finger injuries, including fractures. Coleman issued the recall for about 228,760 Converta camping cots and camping suspension stretchers, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced on Thursday, June 26. The recall also affects about 438 cots and stretchers sold in Canada. The CPSC said the backrest can snap shut and pinch a person's fingers, creating a risk of lacerations and amputations. Evan Esposito, a 19-year-old Hackettstown resident, died on Thursday, April 17, according to his obituary from the Cochran Funeral Home website. Esposito graduated from Hackettstown High School in 2023 and was pursuing a business degree at Siena College at the time of his death, his obituary reads. 750-Plus Acres Added To State Park In Hudson Valley: Provides Access To Appalachian Trail
Two several-hundred-acre land parcels have been added to a popular state park spanning two counties in the Hudson Valley, officials announced. In an announcement on Thursday, Oct. 3, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul revealed the addition of 763 acres to Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park in Putnam and Dutchess counties. The added acres will go towards meeting the state's goal of conserving 30 percent of its land and waters by 2030, Hochul said.
