Wife Finds iPad Video Of NY Stepfather Abusing Child: DA
A wife and mother's disturbing discovery on an iPad has lead to decades in prison for a New York stepfather, prosecutors announced on Thursday, March 19. A 37-year-old Brookhaven man was sentenced after admitting to abusing his two stepdaughters, according to Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney. He pleaded guilty to two counts of course of sexual conduct against a child, authorities said. His sentencing was held before Acting Supreme Court Justice Karen M. Wilutis, who ordered 30 years in prison followed by 20 years of post-release supervision, prosecutors said.…

Nation's Largest Offshore Wind Project Breaks Ground In NY On Way To Powering 600K Homes
Work on the nation’s largest offshore wind project is officially underway in New York. On Long Island, local and state leaders attended a ceremonial groundbreaking at the Boys and Girls Club of Bellport on Wednesday, July 17, for Sunrise Wind, a 924-megawatt project expected to produce enough energy to power 600,000 homes.
