A woman is facing felony charges after allegedly attempting to smuggle drugs and laced papers into a Dutchess County correctional facility, police said.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 14, when a trooper responded to a report of contraband being introduced into Greenhaven Correctional Facility in Beekman, New York State Police announced on Monday, June 16.

A staff member at a Dutchess County high school has been placed on administrative leave following allegations of inappropriate conduct, school district and law enforcement officials confirmed.
In a letter sent to families on Thursday, May 15, Arlington Central School District Superintendent Philip Benante acknowledged the serious nature of the report and said the district, which includes large parts of the towns of LaGrange, Pleasant Valley, Beekman, Poughkeepsie, and Union Vale, acted swiftly after learning of the allegations.

A 58-year-old man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly firing a gun, pointing it at a victim, and assaulting them during a violent dispute inside a Dutchess County home, authorities said.

Hudson Valley Duo Charged With Felony DWI In Unrelated Incidents
Two men from the region were nabbed for alleged felony DWI in two separate incidents.
Dutchess County residents Christopher J. Duquette, age 66, of Hyde Park, and Nelson Acevedo, age 53, of Beekman, were both charged on Sunday, June 30, said Capt. John Watterson with the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.
Duquette was charged after deputies responded to a one-car crash around 8:50 p.m. on Route 9 for a report of a collision, Watterson said.
