Charges Filed In New Year's Crash That Killed NJ Gov. Murphy Staffer, Prosecutor Says
A woman is facing manslaughter charges after she fled the scene of a fatal six-car crash in Plainsboro that occurred on New Year's Day, authorities announced Thursday, July 31. At 1:56 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 1, first responders responded to Route 1 in Plainsboro for the multi-car crash, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Plainsboro Police Chief Eamon Blanchard said. A North Bergen woman was arrested after police say she hit several protesters with her vehicle during a public demonstration in Fairview on Saturday, July 12 (scroll for video). A Morristown woman who hit a pedestrian while driving drunk had her original charge of assault by auto downgraded to disorderly conduct, court and police records show.
