Sean F. Turcios, 39, of Beekman, was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny on Thursday, March 20, following an investigation into the theft of a truck from a Southeast home, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday, March 25.

The case stems from a September 8, 2024 incident, when a man reported his truck missing from a driveway on Route 312, the Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities added that the vehicle had been parked in the morning and was gone by the afternoon.

Deputies and investigators reviewed surveillance footage and entered the truck into a law enforcement database as stolen.

The next day, on September 9, 2024, officers with the Danbury Police Department in Fairfield County stopped the stolen truck and arrested Turcios, police said.

He was charged in Connecticut with possession of the stolen vehicle and served a sentence there before being released in March.

On March 20, Putnam County investigators were notified of his release and took custody of Turcios. He was arraigned in Southeast Town Court and charged with grand larceny, a felony.

Because of multiple prior felony convictions, Turcios was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility pending a future bail hearing.
