1 Killed After House Fire Breaks Out In Seaford One person died in an overnight house fire on Long Island. The blaze broke out at around 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in Seaford. First responders observed the second floor of the home on Crescent Cove Drive engulfed in flames.  The Seaford Fire Department extinguished the flames, but the residence sustained extensive damage.  An 85-year-old man was removed from the residence and transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead just after midnight on Tuesday, Oct. 8, by a hospital physician. The man's identity has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported. …

Someone Set Van On Fire Outside Nassau County Home, Police Seeking Tips Police are investigating after someone set a van on fire outside a Long Island home. The incident happened in North Valley Stream at a residence on Franklin Avenue shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17. Nassau County Police said someone poured a flammable liquid on a Ford Econoline van that was parked in a driveway and set the vehicle on fire. The suspect then ran away heading northbound on Franklin Avenue. Firefighters from the Valley Stream Fire Department responded to the home and extinguished the flames. Nobody was injured and there was no substantial damage to the van. No suspects…
