TASER Device Used On Man Breaking Into Woman’s Home, Fleeing Officers: Nassau County Police

A Brooklyn man was tased by police after breaking into a woman’s home and attempting to flee in Bellerose Terrace, authorities said.

Angel Casiano, 23, of Fountain Avenue, unlawfully entered the victim’s residence and destroyed various items inside on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 4:20 p.m., according to Nassau County police.

When officers arrived, Casiano allegedly ran from the scene but was caught nearby. As police attempted to arrest him, he refused commands and reached for his waistband, prompting officers to deploy a TASER device to subdue him, officials said. Casiano was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Further investigation revealed that Casiano was also responsible for a burglary on August 30, 2024, and three counts of criminal mischief from an incident on January 31, 2024, police said.

Casiano is facing multiple charges, including:

  • Burglary 2nd Degree (two counts)
  • Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree
  • Criminal Mischief 4th Degree (three counts)
  • Petit Larceny
  • Assault 3rd Degree
  • Aggravated Harassment 2nd Degree
  • Resisting Arrest
  • Obstructing Governmental Administration

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, March 17, 2025, in First District Court in Hempstead.
