84-Year-Old Driver Killed After Crashing Into Wooded Area On Long Island An 84-year-old woman was killed after her car veered off the Sunrise Service Road and slammed into a wooded area in East Patchogue, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Feb. 8. Patricia Lovetro, 84, of Deer Park, was driving a 2023 Nissan Sentra eastbound on the Sunrise Service Road near Gazzola Drive when the crash occurred at approximately 8:50 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 7, police said. Deshawn Parrish ID’d As Pedestrian Killed On Route 112 In Long Island: Police A pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle on Route 112 in East Patchogue has been identified as Deshawn Parrish, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Jan. 4. Parrish, 30, of Medford, was hit by a 2012 Nissan driven by 22-year-old Yvonne Balbucacuji near Sycamore Street at 10:45 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, police said. Parrish was pronounced dead at the scene, while Balbucacuji, of Patchogue, was uninjured, according to authorities. Man Killed ID'd In Sunrise Highway Dump Truck Crash That Injured 2: Police A motor vehicle crash on Sunrise Highway left a Shirley man dead and two others injured on Friday, Dec. 13, Suffolk County police announced. Darrell Sumpter, 51, was driving a 2002 Cadillac westbound in the left lane of Sunrise Highway when the vehicle swerved and struck a 2021 Ford utility truck in the right lane, police said. Both vehicles left the roadway and overturned at 1:37 p.m., approximately 1.5 miles east of Horseblock Road in Shirley, according to authorities. It happened in Centereach on Sunday, Nov. 17, around 10:25 a.m., at the intersection of Middle Country Road and Ronkonkoma Boulevard.  Suffolk County Police said a 32-year-old Medford man was driving a Nissan Sentra south on Ronkonkoma Boulevard when he attempted to turn left onto Middle Country Road, colliding with a motorcycle traveling westbound.
