Pedestrian Critical After Being Struck By Car: Nassau County Homicide Squad
A 73-year-old pedestrian is in critical condition after being struck by a car in Port Washington on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2024, police announced. The crash happened at 10:12 a.m. when a 45-year-old woman driving a 2019 Subaru turned left from Plandome Road onto Murray Avenue and hit the pedestrian who was crossing the street, detectives with the Nassau County Homicide Squad said in a release. A person died after being struck by a car on Long Island. The crash happened just before 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, in Brentwood. Suffolk County Police said a 24-year-old Brentwood woman was driving a 2012 Acura TL and turning left onto eastbound Suffolk Avenue from Eisenhower Avenue when she struck a pedestrian in the roadway. A man was hospitalized after being struck by a truck on Long Island. The accident occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 13, around 5:55 p.m. on Jerusalem Avenue near Nelson Avenue in Hicksville, according to Nassau County police. Police reported that a 64-year-old man driving a 2005 Nissan pickup truck southbound on Jerusalem Avenue hit a 59-year-old man crossing the road. The pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. The driver remained at the scene, and no additional injuries were reported.
