Man Killed After Being Struck By SUV Overnight In Mastic A man was killed after being struck by an SUV on a Long Island roadway overnight. It happened around 9:40 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, in Mastic. A 74-year-old Mastic woman was driving a 2019 Kia SUV southbound on Mastic Road, near Dover Avenue, when the vehicle struck the man riding a bicycle traveling southbound. The bicyclist, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.  The driver of the Kia was not injured. 17-Year-Old Long Island Boy Killed In Crash Police are investigating a single-vehicle Long Island crash that claimed the life of a teen. It happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1 in Uniondale. A 17-year-old boy was riding a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle westbound on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard near the Cradle of Aviation Museum when he hit a curb and was thrown from the vehicle, as reported by Nassau County Police. The boy suffered major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a hospital physician.  His name has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported.
