2 Firefighters Injured After Blaze Breaks Out At Long Island Home
A house fire on Long Island left two firefighters injured. The blaze broke out at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Woodmere at a home on Mosher Avenue. Responders arrived to find flames emanating from the rear of the residence. All occupants were evacuated safely, while multiple fire departments, led by the Woodmere Fire Department, worked to extinguish the blaze. The two injured firefighters declined medical treatment. Fatal House Fire Breaks Out In Suffolk County
A house fire on Long Island claimed one life. A 911 call reporting a blaze at a residence in Mattituck on the 4500 block of Middle Road in Mattituck on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 9:45 a.m. Multiple fire departments arrived, and while three individuals managed to escape unharmed, a body was later discovered inside. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity and cause of death for the victim. New Update: Massive Brush Fire In Suffolk County Covers 20 Acres
It took almost 10 hours for responders to contain massive brush fire on Long Island is being battled by 18 responding departments. The blaze broke out at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, in Riverhead in a wooded area to the east side of 3000 Sound Avenue. It was finally contained at around 10 a.m. Saturday. A total of 20 acres were affected by the blaze, according to the Town of Riverhead Police. In addition to the Riverhead FD, 17 other departments are assisting at the scene. 5 Hospitalized After Flames Engulf Long Island Home
Three adults and a pair of children were taken to a local hospital after a large fire broke out at a residential home. It happened in East Meadow on Tuesday, June 25, according to Nassau County Police. At approximately 3:40 p.m., police arrived at the home, which was on Arleigh Road, to see the house fully engulfed in flames. The East Meadow Fire Department, along with multiple fire departments from surrounding towns, were able to extinguish the blaze. Police reported that the house suffered extensive damage. Man Sets Off Fireworks At Long Island 7-Eleven, Remains At Large: Police
Authorities are searching for a person who caused an explosion at a Long Island 7-Eleven and his two accomplices. It happened on Wednesday, May 29 in Elmont. Just after 11:33 p.m., Nassau County Police said that a man walked into the 7-Eleven located at 254 Elmont Road, lit a single firework, and threw it into the store’s middle aisle. The explosion caused a fire, which the Elmont Fire Department was able to extinguish, and damaged the store shelves and merchandise. Police described the suspect as a Black man with a slight build.
