29-Year-Old Woman Found Dead At Long Island Home An investigation is underway after a woman was found dead at a Long Island home. Officers responded to a 911 call for an aided person in Hempstead at a Botsford Street residence on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 8:40 p.m. in Hempstead. Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old woman in the basement of the home with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released. 55-Year-Old Killed In Hit-Run Long Island Crash A suspect is on the loose after a fatal overnight hit-and-run Long Island crash. It happened around 3 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in North Massapequa. A 55-year-old man was crossing Hicksville Road in the vicinity of Boundary Avenue when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene in an unknown direction.  The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff. Human Remains Found Behind Lowe's Store In East Garden City An investigation is underway after human remains were found behind a Long Island Lowe's store. Nassau County Police received a 911 call at around 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, reporting possible remains in the wooded area in East Garden City, in the rear of 700 Dibblee Drive, near the Meadowbrook Parkway.  Upon arrival, officers noticed an abandoned encampment and discovered human remains.  The Nassau County PD Homicide Squad and the Medical Examiner responded to the scene.  The body was removed from the scene and brought to the Medical Examiner’s office for further examination.…
