After some 27 years, detectives have solved the cold case murder of a baby boy in the region.
Albany County resident Keri Mazzuca, age 52, of Altamont, was charged in connection with the Sunday, Sept. 7, 1977 homicide, on Saturday, Sept. 14.

New Cafe Opens In Capital Region Featuring Breakfast, Burgers, Greek Specialties
There's a new cafe in the region serving everything from eggs and breakfast staples to Greek specialties.
In Albany County, Delaware Cafe opened on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 180 Delaware Ave. in Delmar. It's the former location of the Delmar Bistro Space.
The restaurant announced the opening on its website.
The menu includes all of the typical cafe fare: farm-fresh eggs; pancakes; and toast, along with burgers, sandwiches, chicken tenders, and chicken souvlaki.
Delaware Cafe is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day but Tuesdays, when the restaurant is closed.

Washington County resident Cody Shields, age 33, of Argyle, was arrested on suspicion of arson Wednesday, July 24, in connection with a fire that destroyed his Albany County business, The Big Body Butcher Shop in Colonie.

A pizzeria boasting the largest pies around is approaching its final dinner service after more than a decade in business.
In Albany County, Pop’s Pizza – located in Cohoes at 148 Columbia Street – will permanently close on Saturday, July 20.
“It is with mixed emotions that we announce the closing of Pop’s after 14 wonderful years of serving the communities of Cohoes, Latham, Troy, Waterford, and Watervliet,” owner Alyssa Apisa said on Facebook.

'Feather Locklear, Hennifer Aniston' Captured After Days-Long Henhunt In Capital Region
These wayward birds of a feather almost flocked together.
In Albany County, the Watervliet Police Department reported an “egg-citing” development on Wednesday, June 19, when officers successfully apprehended an elusive hen, dubbed “Feather Locklear,” after she spent two days on the lam.
Her partner in crime, “Hennifer Aniston,” was captured on Monday, June 17, the agency said on Facebook.
“For the last two days, ‘Feather Locklear’ has been running a-fowl throughout the city eluding police. Officers spotted ‘Feather’ on patrol today and a foot pursuit commenced.”
