Community Board Destroyed in Hit-Run: Help Needed For Replacement In Hudson Valley A community organization in Putnam County is seeking help in replacing a decades-old bulletin board that was destroyed in a hit-and-run crash.  The collision happened on Thursday, Feb. 13, around 4:45 a.m., when a pickup truck crashed into the Brewster Rotary Club’s community board, destroying it, the organization announced.  The truck also slammed into a tree belonging to the Southeast Fireworks Committee, according to the organization.  The Brewster Rotary Club, which has been a part of the community for 80 years, is now working to fundraise for a replacement sign—one that…

Police ID 21-Year-Old Man Killed In Single-Car Crash On I-87 In Ulster County New York State Police have identified a 21-year-old Rockland County man killed in in a single-vehicle crash in Ulster County. Randolph E. Quintanilla Revolorio, of Nanuet was killed around 6 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 28, on I-87 southbound near Exit 19 in the town of Ulster, State Police said. A preliminary investigation revealed that Revolorio was driving a  2008 Honda when it exited the roadway through the right shoulder for unknown reasons and struck a tree.  Troopers said Revolorio was ejected and was pronounced dead on the scene. Tornado Touched Down In NY During Round Of Severe Storms: Here's When, Where A tornado touched down in New York State during a round of severe storms, the National Weather Service has announced following a survey of the damage. The tornado hit the village of West Winfield in southern Herkimer County late Saturday morning, June 22. It's about 60 miles east of Syracuse and 85 miles west of Albany. Lightning Strike Causes Tree To Fall On Car In Hudson Valley One person was taken to a hospital after lightning struck a tree, causing it to fall on a car in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened in Putnam County on Sunday, June 23 around 7:20 p.m., when a tree fell on a vehicle on Route 6N in Mahopac between Secor Road and Parker Drive, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department.  Arriving fire crews found all three of the vehicle's occupants outside of the car.
