Bicyclist Seriously Injured In Crash With Pickup Truck: Suffolk Police A 73-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in East Patchogue, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Jan. 18. Gary Green, of Bellport, was riding on Montauk Highway near County Road 101 when a westbound 2013 Ford pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Norman Kurrass, of East Patchogue, hit him at 5:14 p.m., detectives said. Green was rushed to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue for treatment of his injuries. Kurrass was not injured in the crash, according to police. Day Care Worker From Bohemia Accused Of Dragging, Hitting Children In East Patchogue A former childcare worker on Long Island has been accused of endangering the welfare of several young children. Following an investigation into separate incidents at the day care facility located on Montauk Highway in East Patchogue, Roshanne Marks, age 33, of Bohemia, was arrested, Suffolk County Police announced on Saturday, Oct. 26. According to police, Marks grabbed the arms and dragged two 3-year-old children and struck the back of the head of another 3-year-old. Man Hid Human Remains Found Along Long Island Highway: Police A man has been arrested after police said he concealed human remains that were found along a local highway. Garry Cowell, age 72 of Patchogue, was arrested on Thursday, June 27, according to Suffolk County Police. At approximately 4:30 p.m., police discovered human remains in East Patchogue along Montauk Highway near County Road 101. The remains were taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner for an autopsy and to be identified. Cowell was arrested by Homicide Squad detectives following an investigation.
