Park Burglar Steals Tools, Keys From Long Island Recreation Center
Police are seeking tips after a burglar stole tools and several keys from a Long Island park administrative building. The break-in occurred in East Meadow, at Speno Park on East Meadow Avenue, at around 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, Nassau County Police said. Someone forced their way into the park’s administrative building, damaging several interior doors in the process. They then fled with a drill set and several master locks and keys. Cop Impersonator Busted Shoplifting At Long Island Target, Police Say
An accused cop impersonator was busted shoplifting from a Long Island Target store, police said. Nassau County Police responded to the New Hyde Park Target store on Union Turnpike for an attempted shoplifting at around 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, the agency said. Employees told police that Yunzhi Xie, 43, had attempted to exit the store with unpaid merchandise. A 78-year-old man was scammed and robbed outside a North Bellmore grocery store, Nassau County police announced. A man in the United States illegally is accused of running a sex trafficking ring on Long Island. Jorge Ramos, 55, was arrested on suspicion of sex trafficking and related charges Thursday, Feb. 20, according to Nassau County Police. Bank Robber Sought After Targeting Patchogue Branch
