Joe Lombardi, Daily Voice's Managing Editor, has spent his professional career as a newsroom director, manager, editor, producer, writer, reporter and broadcaster who has worked at major websites, television networks, newspapers, magazines and radio stations and as a book author.

The Manhattan native, Irvington (NY) High School and University of Dayton graduate has been actively involved in web publishing for more than 25 years. In addition, he also has expertise in marketing, public relations and social media.

Lombardi rejoined Daily Voice in September 2013 as managing editor after serving as sports editorial consultant from August 2011 through January 2012. He was named to oversee editorial operations in the fall of 2017.

Woman Fatally Struck Crossing Busy Long Island Roadway A woman was struck and killed in an overnight crash on Long Island. The incident happened at about 1:15 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, on Hempstead Turnpike near the intersection of Uniondale Avenue in Uniondale.  A 25-year-old man driving a 1995 Lexus westbound on the turnpike hit the woman as she was crossing the road, according to Nassau County Police said. 2 Firefighters Injured After Blaze Breaks Out At Long Island Home A house fire on Long Island left two firefighters injured. The blaze broke out at about 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in Woodmere at a home on Mosher Avenue. Responders arrived to find flames emanating from the rear of the residence. All occupants were evacuated safely, while multiple fire departments, led by the Woodmere Fire Department, worked to extinguish the blaze. Fatal House Fire Breaks Out In Suffolk County A house fire on Long Island claimed one life. A 911 call reporting a blaze at a residence in Mattituck on the 4500 block of Middle Road in Mattituck on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at 9:45 a.m.  Multiple fire departments arrived, and while three individuals managed to escape unharmed, a body was later discovered inside. The Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the identity and cause of death for the victim.  Detectives from the Suffolk County Homicide Squad and Arson Section are investigating the incident.
