The suspects are on the loose after a violent overnight robbery on Long Island. The incident happened just after midnight Monday, Sept. 23 in New Cassel. A 49-year-old man was walking at the intersection of Prospect Avenue and Siegel Street when three men approached the victim from behind and punched him in the head before throwing him to the ground. Three people were hospitalized after an overnight crash on the Long Island Expressway. It happened just after 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, in Manorville. A man has been accused of driving drunk after a crash causing severe injuries during the height of the evening commute on Long Island. The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in Hauppauge. Miller Place resident John Whaley, age 52, was driving a 2021 Nissan Kicks southbound on Veterans Memorial Highway., according to Suffolk County Police. Hit-Run Driver Sought After Injuring Woman Walking In Brookhaven
Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that injured a woman on Long Island. The incident happened in the Brookhaven hamlet of Sound Beach, on Sound Beach Boulevard, at around 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12. Suffolk County Police said a Toyota Corolla was driving on South Beach Boulevard when it struck a 55-year-old woman and fled the scene. Authorities did not elaborate on the victim’s condition. A trooper is recovering after he was rammed by a suspect’s vehicle on the Southern State Parkway. The incident happened in the westbound lanes near Meadowbrook State Parkway in North Merrick at around 10:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1. A Queens man who made more than 12,000 calls to dozens of Congressional offices and threatened to kill a staffer has been sentenced to more than a year in prison, federal authorities announced. Ade Salim Lilly, 35, was sentenced to 13 months in prison, followed by 36 months of supervised release for making threats and "conducting a campaign of pervasive harassing communications against members of Congress," according to the US Attorney's Office.
