Girl Injured After Jumping Out Of School Bus In Hudson Valley
A teenage girl was severely injured after jumping out of the back door of an Omni bus following a flat tire. The incident occurred in Orange County around 7:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 3, on I-84 in Middletown. According to Trooper Steven Nevel with the New York State Police, a yellow Omni bus carrying 29 passengers was traveling east on I-84 in the town of Montgomery from Camp Pupa in Sullivan County. Lightning Strike Causes Tree To Fall On Car In Hudson Valley
One person was taken to a hospital after lightning struck a tree, causing it to fall on a car in the Hudson Valley. The incident happened in Putnam County on Sunday, June 23 around 7:20 p.m., when a tree fell on a vehicle on Route 6N in Mahopac between Secor Road and Parker Drive, according to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department. A Westchester caseworker has succumbed to her injuries more than a month after she was brutally attacked while performing her duties. Maria Coto, age 56, died on Wednesday, June 19 as a result of injuries she sustained during an assault in Peekskill on Tuesday, May 14, according to Peekskill Police Lieutenant Adam Renwick. Driver Airlifted After Crashing Into School Bus In Region
The driver of a minivan was airlifted following a crash with a full-size school bus in the region. The collision occurred in Sullivan County around 8:30 a.m., Monday, May 20, on Route 52 in Jeffersonville. According to Undersheriff Eric Chaboty of the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, deputies found a full-size school bus that had been traveling westbound when it was struck by a minivan traveling east.
