5 Capital Region Men Nabbed On Gun Charges, Police Say Five people were charged with allegedly having loaded weapons during a Hudson Valley traffic stop. The incident occurred in Orange County around 3:40 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 25, in Wallkill. According to Lt. Robert McLymore of the Wallkill Police, the department, along with the New York State Police, performed a vehicle stop at Exit 116 on Route 17, which led to the arrest of five of the five suspects. A subsequent investigation resulted in the recovery of three loaded firearms, McLymore said. Those charged included: Capital Region resident Shawn A. Briggs, age 35, of Troy. …

Capital Region Man Beats Victim Unconscious, Police Say A Capital Region man was nabbed for allegedly beating another person unconscious that he did not know. The incident occurred in Saratoga County around 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, in Clifton Park. According to New York State Police Trooper Stephanie O'Neil, the victim, suffering from multiple visible injuries, went to the State Police headquarters to report the crime. Not So Fast: Wanted Fisherman Tries Fleeing From Capital Region Cops In Rideshare, Police Say In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the most efficient means of escape. A Greene County fisherman found himself in handcuffs after he allegedly attempted to flee from police in a rideshare vehicle. The incident happened Tuesday, July 2, along Catskill Creek in the town of Durham.  Officers with the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) spotted a man and woman fishing and asked for their fishing licenses. According to the agency, the man did not have an ID and gave them the name and birthdate of someone else with an active fishing license.  A check of his motorcycle’s …
