Right Whale, Calf Spotted In New York, New Jersey Shipping Lanes A rare and unexpected sighting of a North Atlantic right whale and her newborn calf was made off the coast of New York and New Jersey, raising both excitement and concern among marine experts, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced.
