A Roosevelt man is accused of sexually abusing a disabled woman during van rides over three years in Jericho, Nassau County police announced on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Steven Harrison, 62, of Powell Street, was employed as a van driver for the Association for the Help of Retarded Children (AHRC), according to detectives. Police are working to identify a man caught on video stealing a tip jar containing nearly $100 from a Long Island bagel shop. The theft happened in Jericho at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10, at Beyond Bagels on North Broadway, according to Nassau County Police. A Queens Village man accused of exposing himself twice to the same woman in a Syosset parking lot has been arrested, Nassau County police announced on Friday, July 18. A house fire on Long Island left a dog dead. The blaze began at about 4 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17 on Seaman Road in Jericho. Responders arrived to find the home engulfed in flames from the second floor and heavy smoke throughout. All residents made it out safely, though the family’s dog was found dead inside. The Nassau County PD Arson Bomb Squad and the Nassau County Fire Marshal are investigating.
