Wave Sends 3 Flying From Jet Ski, Hospitalizes Man In Hempstead Harbor: Police
A wave sent three people flying from a jet ski in Hempstead Harbor on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025 at 5:57 p.m., police announced. The jet ski was hit by a wave, ejecting all three riders, according to Nassau County Police. Marine 7 and the Town of Oyster Bay Constables responded and located the group along with the craft. Rescuers helped all three back to safety, authorities said. Two refused medical treatment, while a 32-year-old man was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

An employee was hospitalized following an accident at a Long Island industrial business. Emergency crews in Inwood were called to the Inwood Material Terminal located on Sheridan Boulevard shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. Nassau County Police said a preliminary investigation found that a 49-year-old man fell off the platform of an excavator and landed on the ground.
