Man Found Dead In Car On Shoulder Of Long Island Expressway In Hauppauge An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in broad daylight on the Long Island Expressway. Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol officers responded to a parked vehicle in Hauppauge on the eastbound shoulder near Route 111 on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at about 1:15 p.m.  Officers discovered a body in the front seat of a 2019 Jeep.  Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, the body was identified as Luis Gonzalez, age 62. 1 Suffers Severe Injuries In Hauppauge Crash A two-vehicle Long Island crash left one of the drivers seriously injured. It happened around 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct.13, in Hauppauge. A 33-year-old man from Brentwood was driving a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Joshuas Path, near Stonehenge Lane.  He attempted to make a right-hand turn into a parking lot and was struck by a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle that was trying to go around the Jeep, according to Suffolk County Police. The driver of the motorcycle, a Centereach resident, age 33, was rushed to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries.  …
