9 Dead Sugar Gliders Among Numerous Neglected Animals Found Inside Kings Park Home, Police Say
Over two dozen neglected animals, including 10 deceased ones, were found in horrific conditions inside a Long Island home, authorities said.
Cazandra Nucci, 42, was arrested on animal cruelty charges after Suffolk County SPCA officers executed a search warrant at her Kings Park residence on Saturday, Feb. 8.
Investigators found 11 sugar gliders and nine cats living in an overcrowded, filthy area with hoarded garbage, some piles reaching over six feet high, police said. They also recovered nine dead sugar gliders and one deceased snake.

A Wyandanch man is accused of torturing a dog with a flame and violating an order of protection during a domestic incident in South Farmingdale, police announced on Sunday, Dec. 29.
Officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a South Farmingdale residence on Friday, Dec. 27, where a 53-year-old woman reported arguing with her son, who had left the home, detectives said.
Police later located Rorenise Toafili, 30, of 19 Washington Avenue, and found him in possession of a white rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine, authorities said.

Duo Nabbed For String Of Suffolk County ATM Burglaries
Two men have been accused of burglarizing multiple businesses and stealing ATMs on Long Island.
Following an investigation by Suffolk County Police Major Case Unit detectives, the two were arrested and charged with a series of commercial burglaries and an attempted burglary between Tuesday, March 5, and Monday, March 11.
During the burglaries, police say, John Mahoney, 41, of Mastic, and Jamie Volini, age 46, of East Patchogue, forced entry through broken doors and windows into closed gas stations and businesses and damaged or stole the ATMs.
