Body Of Man Who Jumped From Hudson Valley Bridge Recovered The body of a man who jumped from a bridge in the region has been recovered. The incident occurred on the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge on Saturday, Aug. 3. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 21-year-old Montgomery man jumped from the bridge mid-span at around 11:25 a.m.  The New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team recovered the body on Sunday, Aug. 4, 2024, at approximately 2:25 p.m.  The man's identity has not been released pending family notification.  This is a developing story. On Tuesday, July 16 at approximately 6:45 p.m. in Sullivan County, police responded to a 911 call of a child left in a vehicle at the Sleepy Hollow Apartment Complex in Monticello. Upon arrival, officers located a 2-year-old boy in a 2012 Ford Explorer suffering from cardiac arrest, New York State Police said. Vintage Plane Involved In Air Show Mid-Air Collision Crash Lands In Trees In Hudson Valley Officials are investigating following a mid-air collision during an air show in the Hudson Valley. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 3:30 p.m., Sunday, July 28, in the area of the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in Rhinebeck. 'End The Suffering': Partygoer's Murder In Capital Region Still A Mystery 20 Years On Police are renewing calls for answers two decades after a man was beaten to death in the region. Montgomery County resident Brian Galusha, of Fultonville, was 31 years old when he was found severely injured and bleeding in the town of Charleston, on North Green Road, early on July 25, 2004. He was airlifted to Albany Medical Center where he later died. An autopsy revealed Galusha died from skull fractures and brain injury caused by blunt force trauma. 3 Dead Following Head-On Capital Region Crash Three people were killed in a head-on highway crash in the region. The Greene County wreck happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday, July 20, on Route 23 in the town of Windham. Sheriff’s officials said a Buick SUV was heading eastbound on State Route 23 when it collided with a westbound Chevrolet pickup truck near the intersection of Cross Road.
