Bill Adding Fencing To Hudson Valley Bridges To Prevent People From Deadly Jumps Moves Forward A bill aimed at stopping suicides by adding preventive fencing to five Hudson Valley bridges has passed the New York State Senate unanimously. Now, the bill introduced by State Sen. Pete Harckham (D, Mount Kisco), will move to the State Assembly, whose session ends on Friday, June 7, for consideration. Woman Parks Car On Hudson Valley Bridge, Jumps To Death A woman was killed after jumping from a bridge in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County around 10:30 p.m., Sunday, May 19, in the town of Rhinebeck.  According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to the Kingston-Rhinecliff Bridge for a report of a woman who had parked her car mid-span on the bridge, exited her car, and then jumped off the bridge.
