Man Nabbed For Spray Painting Graffiti On Multiple Buildings In Region: Police A man was busted for allegedly spray painting multiple buildings with large graffiti letters in the region. Dutchess County resident Richard Bulson, age 40, of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Friday, Sept. 27, for the Saturday, Sept. 21 incident on Main Street in Beacon. According to Beacon Police Chief Thomas Figlia, an investigation identified Bulson as responsible for the alleged crimes. On Sept. 27, Bulson was located during a traffic stop and charged with three counts of criminal mischief and three counts of making graffiti.  He was processed and released on an appearance tic…

Person Jumps From Bridge In Region Person Jumps From Bridge In Region
Person Jumps From Bridge In Region Dive teams, fire departments, and EMS personnel are searching for a person who jumped from a bridge in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge in Beacon around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17. According to New York State Police, the unidentified person jumped from the bridge on the Beacon side, and a search is ongoing.   This is a developing story. Check back to Daily Voice for updates.

Suspect Nabbed In Fatal Shooting In Region Police have made a second arrest in the 2022 murder of a 32-year-old man in a housing complex parking lot. Khyree Pratt, age 23, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 5, in connection with the 2022 murder of Lionel Pittman in Dutchess County at the Forrestal Heights housing complex in Beacon. 16-Year-Old Girl From Region Stabbed By Boyfriend, Police Say A 16-year-old girl is recovering after allegedly being stabbed by her boyfriend during a fight. The incident occurred in Dutchess County on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 31 Eliza St., in Beacon. According to Beacon Police Chief Thomas Figlia, officers found the teen bleeding when they responded to a call for a woman who had been stabbed. The girl was bleeding from what appeared to be a stab wound to her leg, Figlia said. She was transported to a hospital for treatment, police said. 3 Stabbed In Hudson Valley During Fight Police are investigating after three people were stabbed during a fight in the region. The incident occurred in Dutchess County at around 12:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Looper's Plaza, located at South Avenue and Wolcott Avenue in Beacon. According to Beacon Police Chief Thomas Figlia, the department received a 911 call regarding something happening at the plaza. The chief said that as officers responded, they located several people in South Avenue Park walking from the area toward West Center Street. Duo Nabbed In Jewelry Store Burglaries Targeting Hudson Valley Businesses Two suspects are behind bars in connection with a string of jewelry store burglaries that targeted businesses in the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. In Dutchess County, police were called at around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, June 13, for a burglary in progress in Beacon at Sky Diamond Jewelers on Main Street. As officers arrived, the suspects were seen driving away from the scene.  Officers initially pursued the vehicle onto the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge but called off the chase “due to the unsafe speeds,” Beacon Police said.
